Conduct aero performance analysis, develop aircraft modeling techniques, determine impacts of Structural and/or Flight Control changes to performance characteristics, turn rate, climb, service ceiling, acceleration. Airspeed, Altimetry and Ambient Air Temperature, Central Air Data Computer (CADC), Thrust Required/Available and Flight Limitations.

Rotary Wing Performance

Maximum Torque Available, Maximum Allowable Gross Weight (Hover Ceiling), Hover Power Required, Go-No-Go Torques, In-Ground-Effect (IGE), Out-of-Ground-Effect (OGE), Directional Control Margin (DCM), Flight Planning and Cruise Control, Maximum Rate-of-Climb/Endurance Speeds and Flight Limitations, etc.

Trajectory Management

Takeoff, Climb, Cruise (Specific Range), Descent and Landing performance analysis, Flight Management Systems (FMS) Lateral Guidance (LG)/Vertical Guidance (VG), function enhancement (ARINC 429/MIL-STD-1553 protocol), perform aircraft performance software unit tests, produce reports, and independent verification and validation (IV & V) of aircraft performance reference datasets for FMS application.

Performance Engineer’s Manual (PEM)

Develop PEM Aero and Engine performance data elements.  Particularly for legacy, out-of-production aircraft with limited original equipment manufacturer (OEM) airworthiness technical support and fragmented airworthiness documentation history.
